Karen Society of Buffalo

The Karen Society of Buffalo (KSB) is a community-based organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and cultivating the self-sufficiency of immigrants from Karen State, while preserving and sharing our cultural heritage. We hope to be able to help others in any way we can!

If you feel inspired, help us out!

The Karen Society is dedicated to providing help to others!

The Karen Society is built on strength, resilience, and community.
For many families from Karen State in Myanmar, decades of government persecution and armed conflict forced us to flee our homes and seek safety elsewhere. For these families, Buffalo became one of the first places where we could finally begin rebuilding our lives.
Over the past 15 years, more than 10,000 Karen, Karenni, Chin, and Burmese refugees have arrived in Western New York. Each bringing their culture, their hopes, and their determination to start again.

Join our Programs

The Karen Society of Buffalo offers programs to everyone from children to the elderly. We invite you to join us in studying culture and technology as well as connecting with the community!

We have Youth programs for after-school or tutoring which will teach people STEM topics, literacy, as well as the Karen culture and general life skills.

We welcome you to Cultural Events

We hold many events focused on the culture of the Karen people. We invite you to join us and the community in these events. Your support means everything to us.
